Cartridge Comments

This cartridge follows a similar design to a regular Gameboy Color game, though with slightly blue tinted plastic. It's one of the cheap, later pirate carts. The back of the cart has the date of 2004, which is very late considering the GBA had already been out for three years by then. The label art features the face of Mario, most of the images being taken from various unrelated Mario games. One of the images says Mario Party 7, while "Mario Pipe" has a picture of the N64 version of Mario Golf. Perhaps the strangest image is the one for "Mario Alleyway", which has what seems to be a picture from the Wario Land series. The only accurate image on the label is Dr. Mario.

Game Selection

There are ten games in total, all of which have Mario's name injected into the title, though most of the actual games remain unchanged. The game selection menu is quite nice, with a Mario sprite in the top left. The Chinese title for each game appears at the bottom of the screen while the English title is selected from the center. The games included are not too bad, despite some not actually being Mario games. The most interesting game here is "Super Mario World 7", which appears to be a hack of an Adventure Island game. I have never seen this hack anywhere else, however, the only changes include a new title screen and some sprite swapping.



Cart Dissection

I'm not going to take this one apart, since the cart is clear anyway. It looks pretty standard on the inside.

Final Comments

A decent selection of games, though it would have been nice if all the games actually included Mario as the titles suggest. The Adventure Island hack may draw interest, though once you realise how little effort went into it then it's not worth your time.
